Statue of Saint Vincent de Paul
Patron of charitable works, Saint Vincent de Paul was a priest who dedicated himself to the most disadvantaged. Born in France on April 24, 1581, Saint Vincent began his ecclesiastical career early. After the death of his father, he suffered financial difficulties and was taken prisoner and enslaved on a sea voyage between Marseille and Narbonne. A few years later, he managed to convert his explorer and was freed.
Saint Vincent devoted himself to an intense religious life and dedicated himself to creating works to support the poor, the sick, the elderly and abandoned children.
