Tile - Saint Gonçalo of Amarante
Blessed Gundisalvus of Amarante, born in 1187, in Vizela, Portugal, was a devout believer, preacher of the Gospel. Under the guard of Our Lady of Assumption, he built a chapel in Amarante, where he retired. Currently, it is called Saint Gundisalvus convent.
During his preaching, he helped and protected the most disadvantaged, and have been recognized as a saint.
A liturgical feast is celebrated on January 10.
